A calm, cool day with just a few high clouds. The harbor seal population was back in its usual place at the tip of the Salishan Spit. Very little trash - I picked up 4 small pieces. The access at emergency access #50 has been made more difficult by winter erosion of the sandy bank.

Number of people: 7. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 4. Estimated 25 people (+1 dog) on the Taft side of the Siletz River but did not walk that side.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
