Report Details
I observed an unusual piece of large iron debris on the beach next to "wind surfers" rock. It appears to be some kind of large buoy that possibly had a light or transmitter on the top. It's approximately 8-10 ft. in diameter and 12 ft. tall. The bottom is open and large styrofoam tubes are exposed. I reported it to CoastWatch and Jesse Jones responded. She forwarded the information to the beach ranger Jake Caldwell. Update March 8: Jake responded that he and another ranger are working with NOAA to try to figure out who is belongs to and then a plan for removal.
Conditions
Temperature: 40 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate.
