blooming: sea rocket, silverweed (Potentilla), yarrow, red clover, yellow monkey-flower; live beach hoppers (Traskorchestia) and isopods (Excirolana)
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. lots of small mole crab (Emerita analoga)skeletons, with a few adults, in the driftline

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Styrofoam. lots of small plastic trash

It was a very stormy day but since it was so late in the year we wanted to do a survey while the tide was low, regardless of the weather. There was one place where there was recent erosion of the cliff.

We have noticed that during the winter storms the sand on the beach moves (presumably offshore) and then is redeposited during spring.
