Mile 198 - Beachside State Park to Reynolds Creek - October 13, 2019

Cloudy still morning, 8 people 2 dogs walking beach. Few western gulls and crows foraging. Small pebbles, crab parts and shells at low tide line. Of note is a new home ( frame at this time) being built about 100 ft. south of boundary of Beachside State park campground. It is about 50-75 feet back of beach, in sandy grassy foredune, and about 12 feet above beach level. It certainly is in the Tsunami zone, and doesn't not appear to have modifications at ground level for winter storm surges, which in the past have reached this area( in our experience)..

New Development

Just south of Beachside state park is the new frame of a large house, about 100 Ft. S. of the south boundary of Beachside state park. Located on sandy soil, probably no more that 15 feet above beach level. Certainly in the Tsunami zone. It is not elevated on stilts or apparent other modifications for high winter storm surges.
