Since this is Labor Day there was lot of activity on the beach.

Since this is Labor Day there was lot of activity on the beach. Many people and dogs. We noticed the bluff had been excavated about a quarter mile north of Vingie Creek. Sand and vegetation had been removed from a section about 15 feet wide going back about 40 feet. The removed height was about 3 feet.
Conditions
Temperature: 60 F. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 0.5 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 33. Number of dogs: 10. Walking or running: 32. Sitting: 1. Other Activities: Person who was sitting had been camping on the beach.
Notable Wildlife
Observed an osprey diving and catching a fish.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. gulls
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells.
Man-made Modifications
Dune modification/removal, Sand removal. A roughly 15 foot wide section of the bluff has been removed completely, sand and vegetation gone. It was probably about 3 or 4 feet tall. Will include pic.

The winter tides have exposed some gravel on the northern part of this beach, and brought out some agate hunters.
