Lots of jellyfish on beach - 3 species.
Report Details
Lots of jellyfish on beach - 3 species. Abundant green foam on beach and in surf.Birds - Mixed flocks of shorebirds. Observed 300+ birds. Primarily Sanderling with some Dunlin. Occasional small flocks of murres or scoters flying south.More large and small plastic in driftline than on July visit. Also lots of balled up seaweed.

Total dead birds: 4. Some appeared to be Murres - ID not definite.

Another glorious sunny winter day at Heceta Beach! The recent high tides have washed away most of the summer dunes that accumulate on the high beach in front of the vegetation zone. Just another day in paradise!

Took the missus out for a trial walk with her new walking sticks, initially heading north into the wind from Driftwood Shores Resort up to Sutton Creek and return with a nice tailwind.
