Report Details

I cross Mile 157 to get to mile 156. Not much going on on this remote section of beach. Saw a few footprints of walkers but no motorized tracks. There's some trash washed up, floats, bottles and a few tires. It's a long trek (3 miles from the farthest reaches of mile 156) back to the parking area so it's difficult to carry much out that far. (Maybe if I were younger!) During the snowy plover nesting season I've seen tracks of the Forest Service vehicles on the beach. I'd be willing to bag up the trash if the Forest Service could lug it out in their vehicles during the nesting season. Generally, miles 157, 156 and 155 are no-motorized-vehicle areas.

I had been wondering how I could get all the trash off my mile of beach since it is relatively remote in an area where vehicles are not normally permitted.
