On a morning that went from fog to sunlight to fog, and from very little wind to strong wind, there were 35 people and five dogs on the beach, and 8 horseback riders.

On a morning that went from fog to sunlight to fog, and from very little wind to strong wind, there were 35 people and five dogs on the beach, and 8 horseback riders. The wrackline consisted of seaweed, tiny shells, wood chips, feathers and quarter-sized crabs. At least two hundred brown pelicans flew by, heading north. Two dead gulls, four dead Common Murre and one dead Pigeon Guillemot. A small salmon shark, was found still alive on the beach about 150 yards south of the last big, black rock near Face Rock. The shark was returned to the water and did not reappear.
