Report Details

An unremarkable day. Well, it's always tough to go down, and even tougher to come up, but nothing of major consequence. No debris that was obviously of tsunami origin. More large plastic floats than usual, and a moderate amount of other litter and debris. Beaches swept clean of natural debris, such as kelp. From time to time, I hear proposals about doing another litter removal from this area. However, it's tough walking, and even tougher to carry stuff, and roping it all up the cliffs just causes more erosion than would occur naturally. I do not think an airlift is feasible. Perhaps it could be towed with a watercraft, but I don't have the expertise to opine as to how it could be done.

Conditions

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: -1.5 feet.

Three NO TRESPASSING and NO CAMPING signs along the road were put up, but I really think it's a public area. At any rate, I was the only person there the entire time.

Six teen-aged or adult seals playing or perhaps feeding just offshore.

In 50 plus years of visiting this small cove, this is the only time I've ever seen it this calm.
