There were two truck/horse trailer rigs unloading 7 horses at the days use area for riding on the beach, and unfortunately producing "beach apples", for the rest of us to avoid.

Heermann's gulls times 150+ Larus heermanni breed in Mexico in early spring and then come north up the West Coast for summer. Chase and steal food from Brown pelicans and other seabirds. Otherwise, diet is like that of other gulls.

Dune modification/removal.

The dune modifications made in front of houses just north of State Park seem to be working. Dunes have been bulldozed flat off and on over past years to keep the them from growing and blocking views and and to keep sand from covering decks, driveways, streets and buildings.
