Summary:

A perfect day on the coast with a light breeze and sunshine. Lots of folks walking the beach, some with their dogs. A few ladies sunbathing and 2 on horseback. The beach was very, very clean.

The beach was extremely clean.  We always have somesort of Goldsworthy type art - this time is lots of cairns and some rocky pictures in the sand.Really pleasant walk!

The uploaded pictures are from mile 284. We didn't get to our mile, 285. Wood apparently from a temple site has been found in Oceanside. We suspect that the timbers mentioned in this report are from...
  • One of many timbers 2 to 3 meters long, 10 cm on a side, most with complex holes and end mortices, etc.
  • A portion of one beam (approx 2m long, 10 x 10cm on sides, showing elaborate shaping.

Near mile 285/286 the Netarts Sewage pipe will be connected to Netarts Wastewater station to go out into the ocean. DEQ has approved.
