It was a calm, lovely day with a very clean beach, except for litter (including rusting bed springs) near easiest access points.

The high tide water mark was at base of foredune, and driftline was higher than we've ever seen.

June 17 We walked Bastendorff beach around 7pm and saw hundreds of brown pelicans sitting on the spit at the southern end of the beach.
