Cascade Head, Two Arches
Mile 249 Reports (1)

January 31, 2009 - Alex Derr
A landslide started near the top of the bluff at Cascade Head and swept hundreds of trees into a pile at the shoreline. Some trees and a lot of dirt have been swept into the ocean. I believe this occurred within the past two weeks, based on conversation with more
  • View of the landslide from the northwest. This clearly shows the freshly exposed dirt near the top and rock farther down, as well as the huge pile of trees at the shoreline.
  • View of the landslide from the southwest. This is a bit higher perspective, and it shows all of Cascade Head so you can see exactly where the slide occurred. Also note the muddy water at the base of the slide.
  • View of the landslide from the west. This photo shows the trails and the rocky beach just south of the slide.
