People keep enjoying this beach. Always lots of activity around Haystack Rock. The puffins have left. The horse apples left behind by the riders were a rather rude use of the beach.

Actions & Comments

We receive the water quality report from Jennifer Ketterman (Oregon Department of Public Health). The enterococci count at the Ecola Court Outfall pipe was above the 'safe' limit on 3/23, 6/22, 7/13, 7/27, 8/03 8/18 and 8/24 ( the last count we have at this time).We contacted the city of Cannon Beach on several occasions, but received no response. In the past, under the previous Public Works director, a sandwich sign was posted at the outfall site, warning people of the contamination. We then contacted Mike Manzulli, who in turn contacted Charlie Plybon from Surfrider. He is presently working with the city of Cannon Beach to get this resolved.We will keep close tabs on this and push for speedy action. I am enclosing a photo, which explains our concern about kids playing right in that area.
