Summary:

I didn't walk the whole mile on this date.  A friend texted, telling me that there was a dead mammal on the beach.  I walked down and found the dead animal (porpoise or dolphin) and took several photographs.  I reported this to the Marine Mammal stranding people at Oregon State. I did notice that the summer beach has built up quite a bit, and large driftwood logs have begun to submerge in the accumulated sand.
