Estuary Resilience Workshops for Lincoln and Lane Counties

The Oregon Coastal Management Program (OCMP) is hosting a series of community workshops to help inform the development of Estuarine Resilience Action Plans for Lincoln and Lane Counties. You’re invited to participate and voice your concerns.
Partners from the OCMP, Mid-Coast Watershed Council, Siuslaw Watershed Council, and Oregon State University will use public feedback from these workshops to better understand local needs and concerns, and guide hazard planning. The goal of these projects is to help local organizations identify vulnerabilities to a range of coastal hazards (e.g., sea level rise, storm surge, tsunami, erosion, etc.) and consider strategies to help coordinate and support locally led responses to those threats.
The workshops will include four in-person, and two virtual sessions. Please register online ahead of time to help the hosts prepare.

Local perspectives on hazards and vulnerabilities, important resources and assets, and general place-based information are needed to help ensure this project serves the community accurately. The in-person sessions may focus more on the local estuary and other nearby estuaries, but discussion and feedback on any estuary(ies) in Lincoln or Lane Counties are welcome.
If you are interested in participating, but unable to attend the workshops, please email Michael Moses (michael.moses@dlcd.oregon.gov) at the OCMP to submit your responses online or follow up with any other questions, comments, or concerns.
Thank you for participating in this effort. Your input is critical to the project’s success!
