Overall, light human impact and very light level of trash. We picked up all the trash that we saw. No major concerns.

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light.

Number of people: 30. Number of dogs: 15. Walking or running: 25. Sitting: 3. Fishing: 2. Other Activities: Lifeguard driving truck down beach.. Mostly walking, kids building sandcastles. No concerns.

Pelicans flying along the beach.
Driftline Content
Almost completely clear of non-natural trash.
Man-made Modifications
Found three pieces of corroded like pipes, which were gathered and appropriately disposed of. Three exposed culverts coming out of the bluff. Not new.
Natural Changes
No changes of concern.

Exposed culvert for future watching.
Seemingly abandoned house on the mile. No negative impacts.
Corroded old pipes removed from the beach and disposed of.
Dead animal castings. A low amount. Nothing of concern.
Rocks at head just to the south of the end of Mile 311.

It was a busy pre-holiday weekend at the beach.

A mild morning walk on mile 311 during an outgoing tide revealed 5 species of nudibranch, 3 species of anemone, and an impressive flock of 150 surfbirds that landed in the rocky outcroppings between Jockey Cap and Silver Point.
