On October 24 I walked my mile and then some, from the Creek at the Southerly end of Arch Cape community all the way to the northerly end of Arch Cape State Park, missing only the inaccessible area between Hug Point state park and Hug point itself. My conclusion is that there were no unusual dead birds in this area. About 100 yards north of the creek I saw what appeared to be one dead murre (black and white; could have been a grebe) and one dead cormorant. Both had been partly devoured by the seagulls. Neither looked otherwise unusual. About 300 yards north of the creek there was a dead, adult, harbor seal, whose only unusual marking was a redness on the upper lip.
