An overcast day with occasional light sprinkles, but overall pleasant. A few people in small separate groups. Everything appears fine on my 1.8 km-long stretch of beach.
Conditions
Temperature: 11 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.

Number of people: 17. Number of dogs: 6. Walking or running: 17. Other Activities: Kicking soccer ball.
Concerns
Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 3. 2 western gulls, 1 northern fulmar
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Many ctenophores stranded at edge of surf. Shells of Siliqua patula, fragments of tests of Dendraster excentricus, molts of Cancer magister, some dead Emerita analoga.
Driftline Content
Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Long line of deer tracks in sand
New Development
Steps down bluff.
Man-made Modifications
One older stairway has suffered a beachward washout and no longer reaches to the beach.
Natural Changes
Visible retreat of solid bluff.
