Report Details

It was a beautiful, partly sunny morning in Manzanita! For an early September Thursday, there were a lot of people and dogs. Low winds made it particularly lovely. The wrack line was mostly bits of jellies, crab molts and the remains of gull meals. There were many burned logs and fire pit remnants - lots of burnt driftwood. Not a lot of garbage! Folks were walking, there was one surfer and a couple of bicyclists. The large piece of driftwood that has been hanging out for the past 5 years is still here, turned root side up now, partially burned.

A beautiful August afternoon. Neahkahnie Creek and the drainage at the south end were lightly flowing with small streams.

A sunny Saturday morning in Manzanita! The upside down tree that is at 45. The strangest thing I found were the two adult common murres - one with a string tied to its wing.
