Report Details

Today was a cloudy but lovely winter day on mile 300. Low winds, no rain and not too many people. The tide was going out and the wrack lines from former high tides were way up on the beach. Lots of cellophane worm casings, microplastics and bits of wood in the wrack line. Some large pieces of driftwood have been burned - this is something that more education needs to be done about b/c it is highly toxic to burn driftwood! The big stump that has been on mile 300 is still here - the beginning of the 6th year! It's moved a lot and has been burned many times, but is still hanging on. A couple of large piles of bull kelp high on the beach, too.
