Natural and made debris on Sporthaven Beach

Temperature: 58 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW.

Human Activities

Number of people: 6. Walking or running: 5. Lots of trash left over from the storms of December most was natural but not all of it was as seen in attached pictures. Did see one lady picking up other people trash. Evidence that a lot of the wood washed in from the storms is being harvested by the locals. . chain saws being used on some of the bigger stuff

Concerns

Driftwood removal

Apparent violations: trash.

Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 12. RVs/Buses parking: 8.

Notable Wildlife

A few gulls and a couple of Brown Pelican. I don't recall seeing Brown Pelican here this time of year before

Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Shells, Small rocks, Wood pieces.

Actions & Comments

More man made trash than usual for this time of year. I remain concerned about what the impact might be from planned up grades to the RV park and surrounding area
