Labor Day was sunny until after 3 when the fog rolled in.

Labor Day was sunny until after 3 when the fog rolled in. There were 15 people walking on the beach, 2 with dogs, and an additional 5 people on horseback. The beach was very clean with little human debris, no wrack and not much wood still showing from the build up of sand. There was nothing unusual except for some ATV tracks running along above the surfline (see photo) and many deep horse tracks. A few gulls and a couple mixed flocks of shorebirds were the only wildlife. 8 dead birds were identified, 2 Murres, 2 Fulmars, 2 immature Gulls, and 2 Brandt's Cormorants. All except one of the Murres were dry and stiff.

A nice bright day with a large group of birders from 30 cars looking for Snowy Plovers when I started but only 13 people walking or sitting on the beach on my way back.
