Report Details

Walked the mile on a typical July day when there was a very cold and strong wind pushing the sand. There were two wracklines and both contained high concentrations of seagrass in large clumps that had been partially buried in the blowing sands. I noted root structure present in many of the grass piles - see photos. Collected one bag of trash - not as many large trash items as had been collected on previous walks, although this may be due to the drifting sand. Noted a ten-lined June beetle in the sea grass - see photo. Observed many family groups sitting together enjoying the day, as well as some folks kicking a ball around and others running. Many groups had dogs and while most behaved well, one dog was observed harassing the gulls. The owner put the dog on a leash when asked.
