Report Details

I submitted a report recently on a beach 245 miles to the South, mile 49, the Port beach in Port Orford, where I noticed many jellyfish washed up. I was struck to find same up north. Maybe late summer is the ordinary end of their life cycle, but just in case, I am making this dispatch. There was also something unusual looking to me. I think it was a plant of some sort. (CoastWatch program manager identified it as a mermaid's purse or egg case of a shark, skate or chimaera).

Conditions

Temperature: 60 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Tide Level: 3.8 feet.

I love to see tourist families come down and enjoy the beach, but some use the beach as a party house and just leave a mess behind.
