Notable Wildlife

At least 5 oystercatchers, 3 surfbirds, 6 black turnstones, western gulls, raven, song sparrows, cormorants.

Wrackline Content

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings or molts, Wood pieces, Marine debris, Plastic debri (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Styrofoam, Other. Significant amount of Velella velella. In the low wrack line, almost all were still indigo blue. In the middle wrack line some were translucent. I have not seen any wash up recently until today. There was a moderate wind blowing from the south. The extent of the wash up extended past my one mile survey. At the base of the jetty they were mostly lefties. After that, the majority were righties.
