Report Details

Breezy and sunny morning to walk a mile with Curry Watershed Partnerships family in honor of Surf & Sun Walk & Run fundraising and awareness campaign. Wide beach with lots of large driftwood near the bluffs and a sandy/rocky shoreline that boosts good agate and quartz hunting. It was incredible how often the primary rock size changed along our walk from fist-size to pea gravel. It was fun to find crab molts, eelgrass pieces, and small jellies/ctenophores in the wrack line. There was a lot of boating activity in the mouth of the Rogue for a salmon tournament. Only concern was that several fires seemed to have swept across parts the driftwood piles at various times in the past.
