I know that mile 277 is the mile I am supposed to observe, however I usually walk the entire spit.

I know that mile 277 is the mile I am supposed to observe, however I usually walk the entire spit. Took bags of garbage out.

Notable Wildlife
Saw 3 groups of pelicans flying over the spit from the ocean to the bay. It was the first sighting of pelicans.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 6.

Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Styrofoam.
Natural Changes
Erosion of vegetated foredune, Newly exposed roots/trees falling.

A large 8-9 foot Male California Sea Lion was found at the end of Mile 278.
