It was a lovely, warm day at Cape Lookout SP.

It was a lovely, warm day at Cape Lookout SP.There were rocks scattered over the sand - last week there weren't any. Assume it's because of stormy weather last week pulling rocks from cobble.The beach seems to have survived another summer of heavy use with minimal damage.
Conditions
Temperature: 68 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 31. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 21. Playing in sand: 4. Sitting: 6. Very mellow day. People enjoying the beach. Nothing of concern going on.

Notable Wildlife
Saw some birds flying off-shore, too far away to identify. Around the beach I saw only ravens.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Shells, Small rocks, Wood pieces. Beach was quite clean
Actions & Comments
During the summer visitors carved steps into the bluffs in a couple of places. I mentioned this to a ranger - he didn't seem too concerned.

A chilly, blustery day with only three persons on the beach/surf.

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.

It was a windy and cloudy day and hence the beach was fairly deserted.
