A pretty uneventful visit.
Report Details
A pretty uneventful visit. Lots of people enjoying the beach in appropriate ways. Very little trash. Many people above the beach in picnic areas. The bluff above the beach continues to erode. The picnic areas and trails have been pushed back and are being well maintained. Trail from day use area onto beach disappears each winter, but at present is fairly gentle.

Temperature: 70 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 3.0 feet.

Climbing bluffs/seastacks
Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs

Notable Wildlife
Saw a few seagulls. Little natural debris on beach.

Very little. Nothing of note.
Natural Changes
Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Visible retreat of solid bluff.
Actions & Comments
Cape Lookout beach continues to show impact of erosion. A lot of sand had returned. A couple of rocky areas on beach at the north end of campground and just north of large landslide at south end.

A chilly, blustery day with only three persons on the beach/surf.

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.
