A beautiful day at the beach.
Report Details
A beautiful day at the beach. A number of fishing boats visible - one fairly close to shore. Beach littered with trees tossed up by the surf. Road near campground littered with rocks, sand and wood that came over the dune during storm. Public notice by Parks Dept of their intention to install a "dynamic rock berm and beach nourishment system" at beach path near campground. Fairly rapid/serious erosion of dunes/bluffs continues.

Birds (black - cormorants?) sitting on floating logs off the beach.Bald eagle flew over quite low heading north up the beach

Actions & Comments
Posted notice at path to beach from campground stating intention to install a "dynamic rock berm and beach modification system." If 10 or more people request it by 1/3/09, there will be a public hearing. Sent information to Phillip.

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.
