A chilly, blustery day with only three persons on the beach/surf. The main item of interest was the diversion of Jackson Creek.
Conditions
Temperature: 52 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Tide Level: 0.2 feet.

Number of people: 3. Walking or running: 2. Fishing: 1. The beach is closed to vehicles, but the one observed was driven by one of the Park Rangers.

Stranded Marine Mammals
The seal/sea lion reported previously is still on the back barrier.
Driftline Content
Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea).
Natural Changes
Earlier in the month sand deposits had caused Jackson creek to divert in a southerly direction. However the creek has returned to its former east-west course across the beach.

After days of rain the sun finally made an appearance, making for a pleasant afternoon on the beach.

It was a beautiful, sunny day although somewhat brisk. Some photos of recent erosion are attached.

The recent storms and high tides have deposited a lot of debris on the beach - especially small plastic fragments.
