Report Details

Shooting a commercial on the beach was a first for me to witness at this beach. This was the most jellyfish of varying sizes I have seen here for a long time.

Conditions

Temperature: 63 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 5.5 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 40. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 10. Other Activities: 2 people paragliding maybe 30 standing around waiting for action in a car commercial being filmed on the beach. My access point, McPhillips Park, was full of big trucks that I was told are part of a crew shooting a commercial, which I later learned was a car commercial but they wouldn't say what car. No further information was available. They were telling people they could drive down to the beach or park in the usual area (which was pretty crowded but they directed me to a space... I have a little car.)

Concerns

Apparent violations: several vehicles in area below dune where cars are not allowed... apparently part of the car commercial crew. And two in the allowed area, apparently the ones who were on the dune paragliding.

Driftline Content

lots of various kinds of jellyfish, from very small to very big

Natural Changes

The ocean seems to have created a berm between itself and the inner beach so there is now a lake between the vegetated cliff and sand berm inland from the ocean
