A quiet, peaceful, sunny day; a moderate number of people just relaxing, wandering, etc.

A quiet, peaceful, sunny day; a moderate number of people just relaxing, wandering, etc.; one family with a couple of little kids busily building a sand castle. With beach clean-up just a few weeks ago, very little litter. One dead seal pup, and a couple of deteriorating gull carcasses. One young man, in a world all by himself, intently and vigorously dancing in the shallow surf; and a pair of Lincoln City policemen patrolling in a department beach buggy. The beach being used as the good lord and Tom McCall intended!

Number of people: 32. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 22. Playing in sand: 6. Sitting: 3. Other Activities: 1. Twwo Lincoln City police officers, patrolling the beach in a Department beach buggy. One young man, apparently with an Ipod in his ear, transfixedly dancing in the shallow water, to the surf and/or the music.

Quite a few gulls on or near the beach; numerous groups of half a dozen or so unidentifiable birds farther out, heading south.

Total stranded mammals: 1. Young (~3` long) harbor seal pup, deceased and and beginning to deteriorate.
Driftline Content
Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). One short length of rope; a scattering of moon jellies and sea nettle

Today was a beautiful day to walk on the beach with a dog or to take photos of the birds.

Although there are signs prohibiting fires and fireworks, they don't seem to be enforced.

An incredible opportunity to watch two bald eagle on Lincoln City, Oregon Beach.

What stays the same here and needs attention is the plastic drainage pipes hanging down the cliff from private property that drain onto the beach.
