Beautiful sunny day with no clouds in sight and only a slight breeze.

Beautiful sunny day with no clouds in sight and only a slight breeze. Lots of folks enjoying a beach day responsibly. Only one people was seen in the water and was on a water scooter just past the break line. Much less trash than found on previous visits and the shore was looking relatively freshly redecorated by the ocean. Much less humanmade forts and new driftwood laid about.

Number of people: 43. Number of dogs: 11. Walking or running: 34. Sitting: 2. Tidepooling: 3. Kayaking: 1. Other Activities: Playing catch/ football, searching for rocks and shells. Most folks were walking the beach and enjoying the beautiful sunshine, some playing with well behaved dogs off leash, there was about a dozen or so people searching for agates and shells in a large section of rocks that had washes ashore just north of the Nelscott entrance.
Notable Wildlife
Various birds flying around and others walking along the shoreline. No live invertebrate or marine mammals seen.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. Unknown species, no leg bands noted.
Driftline Content
Less trash than I have seen in the past. Mostly seaweed/ kelp, rocks, and animal castings.
Man-made Modifications
About three manmade driftwood forts seen. Much less than in the past. Only one spot seen where it looked like there was a bonfire.

We went for our walk at an early hour since it is a busy weekend with the Kite Festival up at the D River.
