Report Details

A large track hoe was digging in the beach, dune and beach access road at the northwest end of SW Anchor Court. A large ring of riprap rocks and orange barricade fencing was placed out onto the beach surrounding the excavation. A water pump and hose had been used with signs of erosion and rusty water. Otherwise it was a great day to be on the beach and many kites were flying!

New Development

The earlier reported new house construction does not appear to be progressing, no people or action visible.

Man-made Modifications

A new large ring of riprap rocks and orange barricade fencing was observed on the beach at the beach access point at the northwest end of SW Anchor Court, Lincoln City. A large track hoe was digging in the beach and sand dune up to near the small concrete building (suspected city sewage) by this road. Access to the beach was blocked by the digging, new riprap rocks and orange barricade fencing. A fire hose and pump was present but not operating at the time, but it showed that rusty water had been pumped out onto the beach with minor erosion present. This is north a couple houses of the other new house being constructed. Please see pictures.

Natural Changes

A lot of sand is returning to the beach and rebuilding the dunes near the Siletz River. Minimal sand is returning and starting to cover the small rocks on the rest of the beach areas.
