Report Details
Sunny, windy day. Only one family on the Spit. We picked up many plastic pieces ... filled a large trash bag. Most looked like edges or sides of containers. No writing or markings. I had my zoom camera so got some close-ups of the seal colony. We walked up the bay side of the Salishan Spit in order to keep the north wind at our backs while on the ocean side. CoastWatch monitoring then deteriorated into an agate hunt, which was very successful.

Number of people: 4. Playing in sand: 4. Approximately 20 people and 3 dogs on the Taft side of the Siletz.

Notable Wildlife
2 eagles spotted flying over Siletz Bay; 150+ harbor seals in their usual place at the tip of the Salishan Spit.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
