A very pleasant day. Spring Break for schools. Over 200 people counted on the north side of the Siletz Bay outlet but we did not walk that side. Harbor seal colony in their normal spot at the tip of the Salishan Spit. Minimal debris - collected 1/2 trash bag. 3 Japanese tsunami items.

Temperature: 56 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: NW. Tide Level: 0.5 feet.

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 9. Playing in surf: 4. Other Activities: 200+ people on the other side of the Siletz Bay outlet.

100+ harbor seals in their usual resting place ... a few more in the water.

Total dead birds: 1.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
