In general the beach was quite clean. Nothing of note other than the two dead murres and the smoldering driftwood noted above and reported.

On July 6, when walking the beach off SW 51st at Mo's and north there were three very large pieces of driftwood on fire or smoldering and abandoned, probably left over from July 4th fireworks. I reported this information to the non-emergency fire number by leaving a message.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
