Another beautiful day!
Report Details
Another beautiful day! Saw a dead Harbor seal pup and reported to pinniped line; approximately 20 Harbor seals on leeward side of spit; saw feeding behavior (aggression) with gulls and determined that they were fighting over an egg ball (fish species unknown); a pair of Bald eagles were hunting over the mouth of the Siletz River.

Human Activities
Number of people: 30. Number of dogs: 5.
Notable Wildlife
Harbor seals hauled out on lee side of spit; dead seal pup on windward side, quite decomposed. Reported to HMSC.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. Western gulls.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
