Report Details
Sunny, calm day. Several people out walking on the spit. Estimated 120+ people and 12 dogs on the Taft side of the Siletz. No beach litter! - except for one stray crab pot. Some of the sharp drop-offs have abated somewhat so it is possible to walk the entire mile on the ocean side again.

Temperature: 56 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: N. Tide Level: 2.5 feet.

Number of people: 20. Number of dogs: 2. Walking or running: 20. Two groups of people were approaching the harbor seal habitat. I warned them about keeping a distance but they seemed to already know that.

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
