Gorgeous day - nice to see people on the beach, though I was a bit worried about kids in the surf! Fresh Brown pelican carcass found; remains of two dead sea lions still on beach.

About a dozen gulls sunbathing at Schoolhouse Creek (Wallace Street); crows overhead
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 1. Besides the ones I spotted earlier this week, today I found a dead Brown pelican just south of Laurel Street access; no obvious signs of distress, and recent enough it hasn't been picked over.
Stranded Marine Mammals
This is a continuation of my last report about the carcasses from which I now know to be two sea lions. I don't know if I should pick up the bones!

Storm damage for this mile seems mostly at Laurel/Sijota; Morris Excavation has built a roadbed parallel to the bluff for equipment access; some erosion at World Mark, north of state park.
