Beautiful day on the coast! It was very busy out today, as the weather was fairly mild for the Oregon coast. Most visitors were kind to the space and thoughtful not to disturb wildlife.

Conditions

Temperature: 54 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate.

Human Activities

Number of people: 90. Number of dogs: 7. Sitting: 78. Fishing: 4. Other Activities: 7 picnicing, 1 metal detecting.

Concerns

Apparent violations: At S Fogarty Creek, 2 children were feeding birds (gulls) bread. Also some people climbing the bluffs. At boiler bay lookout, 4 people were fishing off of a bluff that is closed for marine birds. Some trash on the ground here as well..

Notable Wildlife

1 gray whale!! We saw 1 blow. 4 pelicans Several gulls

Many dead vellella vellella. Some wood pieces were moved and stacked by humans to create some sort of fort.

It was a cold coastal day but there were still a few Oregonions out enjoying the shore. It was a bit scary to watch the young boys playing in dangerous surf. Uploaded a pic of some debris with Salishan's name on it.
