My stop was brief; I walked just in the vicinity of Myers Crk where repaving and some reconstruction was underway.

My stop was brief; I walked just in the vicinity of Myers Crk where repaving and some reconstruction was underway. It's being conducted with care. Beach plants were flowering. Wrack line held clumps of large mussels. Saw my first GBH here. Foggy to the south and at sea.

Temperature: 68 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 5.0 feet.

Number of people: 12. Walking or running: 8. Photography: 3. Surfing: 1. Beach activities are people enjoying the cool as it is 100+ inland. First time I've seen a surfer here; mile 24 is the surfer spot.Myers creek bridge is undergoing work. Heavy equipment about; resurfcing , new railngs. No contractor name evident and no one working today. Tiny bit of colorless, odorless water drainage escaping to rocks under the bridge. It is from wetting new concrete above.

1 great blue heron wading in Myers Creek on the beach,gulls about.
Dead Fish or Invertebrates
Unusual concentration. For 50 yds S. of Myers Crk, the wrack line is almost exclusively composed of large mussels, singly and in clumps.

Found the partial remains of a large (6'x6') cylindrical buoy on top of driftwood about 1/3 mile north of Henrys Rock (monolithic HR marks the south end of mile 23. Your reporter called Harris Beach SP who is responsible for cleanup of Pistol River SP which mile 23 is within. The rest of the beach is smooth and litter free.

There was a lot of small plastic debris and natural tree debris along the tide line between Meyers Creek and a short distance south of the stacks.

Steep newly cut foredunes and rocks more exposed because of winter waves scouring the beach.

The cave in one of the monoliths was accessible.

Illegal ATV tracks recently made running from south to north and back again.
