Natural changes tend to minimal due to the very resistant nature of the basalt sea cliffs along this mile, and inaccessibility of the shoreline makes it nearly impossible for access and disturbance by humans. The day was sunny and warm (for mid-April), which brought out a relatively large number of sightseers, who were enjoying the scenery from Otter Crest Loop and Otter Crest State Scenic Wayside.
