Report Details
On a cool, partly cloudy, and somewhat windy afternoon, no people were directly observed along the shoreline, though I did see a couple vehicles parked on Otter Crest Loop above where people may have access to areas at the top of the bluff. One or two vehicles at a time were parked at the Lookout (Otter Crest State Scenic Viewpoint), where people were enjoying the views but didn't stay long in the cool and windy weather. Note that the newly renovated gift shop is open from 10AM to 3PM Wednesday through Sunday, so it was closed at the time I visited. No significant wildlife was observed.
Conditions
Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Tide Level: 1.8 feet.
Activities
Other Activities: Two empty vehicles were parked along Otter Crest Loop in places where there may be some (difficult) access to the rocky shoreline, so there may have been human activity that I did not observe directly.. No human activities were observed. See "other activities" above..
Notable Wildlife
Nothing notable was observed.
Wrackline Content
One narrow black sand beach just north of the Lookout has no wrack line, as at high tide wave action is against the cliff, and at the other, a boulder to cobble beach located about midway on the mile, there was also no visible wrack line, even though high tides would not quite reach the cliff.
Man-made Modifications
No modifications were observed. This has been explained previously as functions of very limited access to the shoreline and the erosional resistance of the shoreline materials.
Natural Changes
No visible changes have occurred in the past three months, which is quite typical for this erosion-resistant basalt-cliffed shoreline.

Mile 226
Otter Crest, State Wayside
Mile 226 continues to see very little human activity due to the difficulty of access because of tall basalt cliffs rising directly out of the ocean with few small pocket beaches.
