Friends of Yaquina Lighthouse held events including a Coastwatch Mile 219 Meetup, a Black Oystercatcher survey, presentations, and bird walks for World Migratory Bird Day. Four black oystercatchers were observed exhibiting nesting behavior. One harbor seal gave birth during the survey which staff noted is common during the week of Mother's Day.
