Report Details

Beach was really clean: I saw almost no trash or plastic. The Great blue heron, and Great egret were present along the creek. Dunes are still high; more grass tussocks in the dunes just west of the creek. There is a new sturdy boardwalk crossing to the beach from the Wayside parking area.

Temperature: 59 F. Cloud Cover: Foggy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: SW. Tide Level: 4.5 feet.

Notable Wildlife

It's always a treat to see the (resident?) Great Blue Heron, and Great Egret that fish along the creek

Wrackline Content

Small rocks, Shells, Animal casings or molts, Wood pieces.

Natural Changes

The creek shifts its "bed" around. Today it was mostly narrow (8'-12' across) and shallow south of the Starfish Inn; at north end it is split into several narrow rivulets, or spread across wide shallow areas.
