Seems to be more whale activity this summer season in the Agate Beach area. Also sighting many more flocks of pelicans.

Total dead birds: 5. none noticed. common murres but one carcass looked more like a pelican-dead for quite some time. Vulture eating another cm carcass new kill

Actions & Comments
The wave energy buoy entourage was offshore this weekend. The newspaper stated it would be placed 2 miles offshore but it sure looks like less than a mile offshore just a bit south of Agate Beach wayside. Some creative sand castle builders decorated theirs with feather fronds of kelp, quite an oasis.

Very few people on the beach; most of them arrived just prior to sunset (which was beautiful).
