Report Details

Observed 3 dead birds, one dead sea lion and a wrackline full of organic debris, including jellies.

Conditions

Cloud Cover: Rain. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light.

Human Activities

I am always impressed with the people on the Oregon Coast enjoying the outdoors no matter the weather. Everyone was just enjoying the wet, rainy, beach.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 3. I didn't see any leg bands, but I was a little shy to be poking at a dead bird. Hopefully, I will become more used to the idea. I am not sure of the species. I think cormorant on one?

Stranded Marine Mammals

Total stranded mammals: 1.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). Jellies
